The NHTSA’s filing says they received three reports of the Cruise vehicle hard braking in response to another car approaching from the rear, each resulting in a rear-end collision. The filing also mentions that there was a human supervisor in the automated vehicle in each crash. The number of instances in which the Cruise vehicle became immobilized on the road is unspecified for now, but the NHTSA says that there were no human supervisors in the Cruise in these instances....

“It is currently Google Ads policy to disallow promoting VPN services in China, due to local legal restrictions,” Google said in an email today. The email was received and shared with ZDNet by VPNMentor, a website offering advice, tips, and reviews of VPN products. The company said Google prevented its employees from placing Google search ads for the Chinese version of its site. When reached out for comment, a Google spokesperson told ZDNet the ban on VPN ads in China isn’t a new development....

Google Chat is the new default chat app for Workspace customers and is gradually replacing Classic Hangouts – which has been in use since 2013 – throughout this year, with forced upgrades currently underway. The new feature lets users hover over a task in the browser or a mobile app to discover where and when a task was created within the flow of a chat. “We hope this feature makes it easier to surface context for your tasks, and re-engage your stakeholders with updates, questions or further collaboration,” Google notes in a Workspace blogpost....

The website in question is for PM Kisan—a government scheme launched in 2018 to provide supplemental income to landholding Indian farmers. According to estimates from 2021, India is home to around 90 million to 150 million farmers.
