From 3 December 2020, significant gambling reforms came into effect in South Australia. New requirements were introduced relating to the use of facial recognition technology, touted as assisting licensees to identify barred persons entering a gaming area. “Facial recognition technology will further support and assist licensed venues meet their responsibilities of identifying barred patrons by alerting gaming venue staff when a barred patron is detected entering the gaming room,” South Australian Consumer and Business Services (CBS) explains....

The collaboration portfolio and cloud communication services offered by Cisco’s Webex will now be available to AT&T enterprise clients, and both companies said in a statement that they expected to offer nearly one million users access to the UCMC platform “through sales of Webex Calling with AT&T – Enterprise over the next five years.” Javed Khan, senior vice president and general manager at Cisco Collaboration, said the UCMC platform will “enhance reliability and performance for all Webex Calling with AT&T – Enterprise users....

The Teams Walkie Talkie app for Android has been available in preview for over a year now and came to Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro devices late last year. The app provides push-to-talk (PTT) services for frontline workers, allowing participants to talk one at a time, taking turns talking and listening. Microsoft is pitching the Teams app as an alternative to workers carrying bulky dedicated PTT radios. Like an old-fashioned walkie-talkie, the Walkie Talkie app has a microphone button that users need to press and hold to speak, and then the user needs to release the button to listen to the other speaker....
Last week, I pondered the potential scenarios for PCs that would be unlucky enough to make the upgrade cutoff for Windows 11. I thought, for sure, that the cutoff would be 32-bit hardware, and most, if not all, 64-bit systems currently running Windows 10 would be able to run the updated OS. Wall Street was looking for earnings of $1.12 per share on revenue of $6.27 billion. PayPal says it processed $311 billion in total payment volume during the quarter, a TPV growth of 40% year over year. Breaking the numbers down further, PayPal says it processed 4.7 billion payment transactions, up 27%, and had 43....
