Attackers Lure Victims with Fake Job Offers According to Bleeping Computer, African Banks constantly deal with attacks from cyber bandits looking to make a quick buck. This led to the banks stepping up their cyber defenses, and deploying strict gateway security systems. In response, cybercriminals have turned to more sophisticated campaigns to carry out their nefarious activities. Researchers at HP Wolf Security discovered the RemcosRAT campaign in early 2022. The attacker targeted a Western African bank employee using HTML smuggling, which allows malicious email attachments to fly under the network security radar....

Wing is an Alphabet subsidiary that develops technology for drone-based deliveries. Of the deliveries Wing has made so far, more than half were completed over the past eight months in Logan, Australia, where it launched two years ago. The deliveries in Logan have included 10,000 cups of coffee, 1,700 children’s snack packs, 1,200 roast chickens, 2,700 sushi rolls, and 1,000 loaves of bread, Wing said. During the first week of this month, customers living in Logan placed orders for 4,500 deliveries, which Wing said worked out to be one every 30 seconds during service hours....

Deloitte’s Center for Technology, Media & Telecommunications conducted a survey of 2,005 US consumers to better understand how people are interacting with technology post pandemic. Among employed adults with remote-work experience, three-quarters prefer it, the survey showed. Respondents listed the top benefits of working from home: the lack of commute, the enhanced comfort of working in your own home, reduced chances of catching illnesses like COVID-19, better focus and an increased connection to family....

It’s been five years since the release of the Apple Watch Series 3, a $199 gateway into the watchOS experience, and Apple is finally putting the affordable smartwatch to rest. Well, update-wise. Apple’s website lists all the watches that will receive the upcoming watchOS 9 update. The list includes the Apple Watch Series 4, 5, SE, 6, and 7, but not the 3. While it’s no surprise that older hardware like the Series 3, which has suffered from unstable updates in the past, won’t be getting the new fitness and health features, Apple is continuing to sell it on the main website....

Apple says that “high amplitude vibrations within certain frequency ranges” can permanently affect your iPhone camera system by damaging the gyroscope sensor that the iPhone’s optical image stabilization (OIS) feature relies on to reduce blurry shots in motion. “To reduce image motion and the resulting blur, the lens moves according to the angle of the gyroscope,” Apple explains....

All the way back in 2017, Bloomberg reported on its knowledge of “rOS,” a new operating system that was supposedly being created to run a forthcoming virtual reality product.
