On Thursday, several people took to social media to report issues with their NFTs displaying. MotherBoard was the first to report the outage. An OpenSea spokesperson said the outage occurred at 6:05am PT, and by 8:30am PT, the outage was resolved. But their own status update page shows the outage lasted far longer, with programmatic access to the API being fully restored by about 3:30pm PT. OpenSea said the time discrepancy was because they kept their programmatic API disabled while monitoring their fix to ensure site reliability....

The Ransomware Attack on Travelex The ransomware attack on Travelex occurred on New Year’s Eve 2020. On this day, the foreign exchange company was struck by the Sodinokibi (aka REvil) malware, which forced its website offline. The attack also impacted its stores and banking services. Reports at the time suggested that the attack was made possible due to a critical unpatched vulnerability in Travelex’s Pulse Secure VPN servers. This vulnerability, logged as CVE-2019-11510, allows attackers to infiltrate Pulse Secure VPN servers and then remotely execute malicious code....

Based on Noam and Ran’s research it appears that the Blisk browser is collecting data from its users and bypassing any security measures they have in place. This was a big data leak, with over 2.9 million records - totaling 3.4GB of data - exposed. It left potentially thousands of web developers all over the world vulnerable to online attacks and fraud. It’s bad enough that Blisk is built to collect user data, and worse still that it’s then leaking this data to the outside world....

The platform makes it easy for users to request crypto-loans or to convert their crypto-holdings to fiat currencies. The breach exposed a huge amount of data. There were over 86 million records that included users’ full names, email addresses, addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, credit card numbers, CVV numbers, full bank details, and in some cases crypto wallet addresses....
