People Get More Value Out Of Robots When They Re Forced To Use Them Really

Did you examine your feelings toward your enemy and decide that perhaps you’d been unfair, too harsh, or even entirely mistaken? Did you forgive, forget, and conclude that the former enemy really wasn’t so bad after all? I only ask because it appears humans’ hate affair with robots is over. Naturally, I exaggerate slightly. It was more of a fear affair. The robots look mean, scary, and devoid of feelings....

Petya Ransomware Attack What You Need To Know

The ransomware uses the same Microsoft EternalBlue exploit that made the WannaCry attack so viral back in May. WannaCry spread to hundreds of thousands of Microsoft computers, and it seems that many Microsoft users still have not updated their systems with the patch. But whereas WannaCry spread like wildfire, Petya is unfurling at a much slower rate. However, the new ransomware makes up for it with an updated system. One of WannaCry’s spectacular errors was its built-in kill-switch, but researchers have yet to find one in Petya....

Phishing Attacks Are Harder To Spot On Your Smartphone That S Why Hackers Are Using Them More

The energy industry is highly critical, providing people with vital services required for everyday use. That role makes it a prime target for cyber criminals. That risk was demonstrated earlier this year when the Colonial Pipeline was hit with a ransomware attack, leading to the gasoline shortages across the Eastern United States. Colonial ended up paying cyber criminals almost $5m dollars for a decryption key to restore the network. SEE: A winning strategy for cybersecurity (ZDNet special report) And it’s not just cyber criminals who have an interest in hacking into the networks of energy providers; they’re also a top target for nation state-backed hacking groups for whom breaching a network could be a path towards causing significant disruption....

Pikaos Is A Next Gen Linux Distribution Aimed Specifically Toward Gamers

Case in point, PikaOS is very similar to that of Nobara Linux, which opts for a Fedora base. But what are these two Linux distributions? Simply put, they are Linux for gamers. Although I’m not a hard-core gamer (my gaming tends to be relegated to the Nintendo Switch), I can seriously appreciate that a development team has opted to make gaming on Linux easier. During my early days of Linux (back when I had considerably more time to spend playing games and didn’t mind sitting at my desk even longer), playing games on Linux was not easy....

Quantum Algorithm Can Crack Rsa Encryption Researchers

“We demonstrate the algorithm experimentally by factoring integers up to 48 bits with 10 superconducting qubits,” they explained. Theoretically, this means that if it’s scaled up, this technique could be used to crack most encryption systems in use today. RSA is a commonly used cryptosystem that helps to safeguard online privacy. Banks, e-commerce stores, and many other online platforms use it. Even, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the standard technology for establishing an encrypted connection between a web server and a browser, is based on the RSA algorithm....
