Allianz’s survey analyzed the most important global business risks for 2022 and beyond, based on insights from 2,650 risk management experts from 89 countries and territories across 22 industry sectors including various other organizations of all sizes. Cyber Incidents Are the Number One Global Threat Cybercrime, IT failure/outage, data breaches, and fines and penalties are categorized as the top global business risks for 2022 by Allianz. There has been a 44% rise in all of these areas, compared to 2021....

Almost half (47%) of cybersecurity incident responders say they’ve experienced burnout or extreme stress during the past 12 months, reports VMware. Of this group, 69% say stress and burnout has resulted in them considering their position. There’s a similar tale at the top of the cybersecurity career ladder. Cybercrime analytics firm SpyCloud found 721.5 million exposed login credentials on the dark web in 2022, with nearly half coming from botnet logs. Researchers also discovered a staggering number of users that had their credentials leaked in breaches last year were reusing the same compromised passwords — around 72% total. These figures come from SpyCloud’s 4th Annual Identity Exposure Report, which the firm published on Monday. “Our researchers combed through billions of recaptured data assets from the dark web over the course of 2022, and their analysis brought back a few familiar themes from past years, and also uncovered some alarming shifts in cybercriminal trends,” SpyCloud stated....
