On Tuesday, IBM said $5 million of in-kind grants would be awarded to public schools, including K-12 institutions in the United States. While IBM’s existing grants program has previously focused on US schools, the scheme has now expanded to other countries. A week ago, Kyndryl started trading as an independent company, and one of its core pillars was to become a multi-cloud player. The Microsoft partnership will serve as a proof point for Kyndryl. Martin Schroeter, CEO of Kyndryl, said the company is investing in its partner ecosystem as an independent company. “Kyndryl is matching our deep expertise in mission-critical IT systems with the benefits of Microsoft Cloud,” he said. Design-wise, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 holds no surprises. The black chassis is punctuated by the ThinkPad X1 logo sitting in one corner and the Lenovo marque in the opposite corner. Project Zero looked at fixed bugs that had been reported between January 2019 and December 2021. The researchers found that open-source programmers fixed Linux issues in an average of only 25 days. In addition, Linux’s developers have been improving their speed in patching security holes from 32 days in 2019 to just 15 in 2021. Its competition didn’t do nearly as well. For instance, Apple, 69 days; Google, 44 days; and Mozilla, 46 days....
